Zac Efron will have a new leading lady for his next movie adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, "The Lucky One."

According to reports, the "Mercy" star, Taylor Schilling, will play as Efron's love interest after beat out Abbie Cornish and Katie Cassidy.

Directed by Scott Hicks, the movie revolves around Efron, who plays a Marine (naturally) that survives three tours of duty in Iraq and attributes this brand of luck to his carrying the photograph of a woman (Schilling) he has never met. Of course, when he returns home from duty, he sets out on a seemingly impossible/irrevocably romantic journey to find the woman.

The "Knight and Day" star is reportedly invited the "Me and Orson Welles" actor to his Beverly Hills house, shared chopper repair tips and showed his bike collection.

“Tom and Zac clicked the minute they met. Since then, the two stars have talked by phone several times a week," a source told the National Enquirer. Reportedly after having second visit to the show in a month, Zac Efron is keen to play the lead role in the movie adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical "Memphis."

"I just can't stay away from the show," Efron said.
